"My art focuses on what inspires me. Artists, art history, the visual world around me, and the presence of God and His created beauty are where I find inspiration. I am motivated by promptings and simple God whispers as creativity in me is brought to life. The awareness of serendipitous happenings both influence and affirm my direction in painting.
I consider myself a representational painter while being stylistically a contemporary impressionist. Subject matter changes based on my inspiration. My knowledge of artists, their work, or how they see inundate my thoughts and imagination often. Simply being in a place can trigger the visual similarities of a piece of art, which may lead me to further exploration of a painting that exists only in my head. This is how my brain works and I sometimes feel the need to take that image to canvas. These paintings are a result of that need and are much more than what you see on the surface. Some represent personal experiences, while others simply reflect what I see. I'm so grateful for this life and to be able to paint and create. And as God whispers, I hope to continue to listen."
